Kraken Daily Market Report for August 02 2020

Overview

  • Total trading volume at $564.8 million, which is about 4 times higher than the average Sunday volume (avg. taken over last four months).
  • Yesterday’s high volume was caused by rising Bitcoin and Ethereum prices, today’s high volume was fueled by price declines. Bitcoin closed down 6.1% over USD and Ethereum down 4.0%. Ethereum was up 6% in the early part of the day, but in an instance dropped as low as -6%. The bulk of the trading volume occurred during the drop.
  • There was a wide mix of mainly negative returns for cryptos over USD. Bitcoin Cash fell 11%; some of the bigger names (XRP, USDT, and LINK) all had less than 1% losses.
