クラーケン・ジャパンは、暗号資産（仮想通貨）カルダノ（ADA）の取扱いとステーキングを開始しましたのでお知らせいたします。

カルダノ（ADA）とステーキング

カルダノは、2015年にイーサリアム共同創設者であるチャールズ・ホスキンソン氏によって作られました。カルダノのブロックチェーンは、取引記録の合意形成アルゴリズムとしてプルーフ・オブ・ステーク（PoS）を採用しており、スマートコントラクトを実装しています。ソラナやポルカドットと並んで「イーサリアムキラー」と呼ばれることもあります。

ステーキング※とは、PoSを採用するブロックチェーンで実行が可能で、「バリデーター」と呼ばれるユーザーが、対象となる暗号資産を一定量保有（ロック）することで取引記録のブロック生成プロセスに参加し、報酬を得る行為を指します。

これまで暗号資産の投資といえば、安く買って高く売ることで利益を出すキャピタルゲイン狙いがほとんどでした。対照的にステーキングは、暗号資産を保有するだけで定期的かつ安定的にリターンをもたらすインカムゲインを狙うという新たな投資手法をもたらしました。

執筆時点において、クラーケンのADAステーキングの年利（単利）は4%〜6%となっています。（利率は今後変更される可能性があります）

※当社にとっての「ステーキング」の法的整理：

本サービスにおいては、当社関係会社が、消費貸借契約によってお客様から借り受けた暗号資産を原資として当該暗号資産のステーキングに参加し、その報酬の全部又は一部に相当する暗号資産をリワード（貸借料）としてお客様にお支払いすることで、お客様が間接的にステーキングに参加することを目的としています。

※過去のADAのプレセール時の手法に関する一部の風評について、カルダノ財団が規制当局から何らかの警告を受けた等の事実は当社では確認しておりません。

Kraken is pleased to announce that clients in Japan can now deposit, trade and stake Cardano (ADA)

What is Cardano? 

Cardano was created in 2017 by Ethereum co-founders Charles Hoskinson and Jeremy Wood. Cardano is a permissionless, smart contract platform which runs on its Proof-of-Stake (PoS) Ouroboros blockchain protocol. 

One of a number of competing proof-of-stake blockchains, Cardano enables owners of its ADA cryptocurrency to help operate its network and vote on changes to its software rules.

Likewise, developers can use the Cardano blockchain for familiar features, including running custom programming logic (smart contracts) and building programs (decentralized applications). 

However, Cardano differs from the other projects by emphasizing a research-driven approach to design, aiming to achieve an academic rigor it believes will propel adoption of its technology.

What is Staking? 

Staking is a method of earning rewards for holding selected cryptocurrencies. Clients can securely stake ADA, either deposited to their Kraken account or purchased on the exchange, to immediately start earning regular staking rewards. 

Staked tokens validate transactions on the PoS blockchain. 

On Kraken, ADA tokens loaned by clients are directed to an onchain smart contract, or validator, with rewards from validating being paid as interest back to the client.

Currently, clients can earn around 4%〜6% in yearly rewards by staking ADA (reward rates are subject to adjustment in the future).

• 本サービスにおける報酬レート（消費貸借契約に基づく利率）は年利で表記されています。当該報酬レート等の貸出の条件は変更されることがあります。

• 本サービスの利用にあたっては、「暗号資産消費貸借契約約款」及び「貸暗号資産取引説明書」等をご確認いただき、取引の仕組みやリスクについて十分にご理解いただき、自己の責任においてお取引いただくようお願いいたします。

【Important notice about crypto asset trading】

• Crypto assets are not a national currency in or outside of Japan.

• Because the price of crypto assets can fluctuate, there is a possibility of loss.
